The Magical Decision: Disney Internship

Before graduating from college, I wanted to do some extracurricular activity involving traveling. I first plan to make an exchange program to Spain. I went to the students advisor office, looked for the information, the prices, etc. I was very motivated with this whole idea until reality slaps me in the face: I needed financial support from my parents in order to do this.

I was scared and nervous, but I finally decided to call my dad and try to convince him about supporting mi idea. But my nightmares came true: he did not support this at all. He told me that I was going to waste a semester doing nothing...bla..bla...bla...I quit this dream, since I couldn´t go without financial support.

The other idea I had in mind was to make an internship, and The Walt Disney Company was going to make an info session about internships at school. I decided to go. Next thing you know, I received a call from the campus recruiter saying I was accepted!

This time I didn´t ask for my parent’s opinions and help. I decided to go no matter what. I needed to improve my English speaking skills anyway, so this was a good way to do it.

It´s has been over a year since I did my program but I´m still living with the consequences of that decision, bad or good. This is the thing about decisions; you never know when a simple «yes» or «no» can change the course of your life forever. After that initial «yes» or «no» response, you´ll notice that your life will turn into a rollercoaster machine, and you never know when you are supposed to get out, but you have to DECIDE!

Puerto Rico: Best Destination of the Caribbean (2011)

I wanted to share a little bit more about Puerto Rico, and I found this video that covers pretty much all the most important not-to-be-missed aspects of the island.

Puerto Rico has been picked as the ´Best Overall Destination` of the Caribbean, by the Caribbean Travel + Life Magazine. The news was published in Puerto Rico´s Principal Newspaper: El Nuevo Dia.

Destination I: Puerto Rico

This blog is based on my travels and adventures after graduating from college, but I will like to start the story of my journey from the beginning.  And it all begins in the heart of the Caribbean, a little piece of paradise I call home: Puerto Rico.

When you live in the Caribbean, with all those crystal clear beaches, awesome night life and all that rum at the palm of your hands, you will think that life can´t get any better. I mean, really, what else can you ask for? It´s like having eternal vacations!

This is a beach located at the north of the island, in a small town called: Camuy. Is one my favorite spots, since its five minutes away form my house. Its excellent for surfers and snorkling lovers.

This is a magical place located at the mountains of the town called: San Sebastian. It is extremely hard to find, even for locals. It´s called: Gozalandia.

This is a glimpse of the capital city: San Juan. It´s a modern city with a Spanish twist.

One of the places not to be missed in my island is The Bacardi Factory Tour. The factory is located in the town called Cataño. This town is 10 minutes away from San Juan but with the traffic it will take you more than 30 minutes. The good thing is that you can take a boat for around $0.50 US from the Old San Juan to Cataño, make the tour, and still enjoy the day in San Juan. They will give you free bacardi drinks!!
